FAQs

Occasionally I receive email asking about my pricing. I've decided to put the answer here for reference, such that prospective customers can decide for themselves whether Superbikepics.com products and services are worth their time and money.

Question: Why do you charge so much for photos? My friend prints them for me off your website for pennies per print. How do you justify your fees? What am I paying for?

Answer: Sure, you could print the images on your color inkjet printer at home and I'm not stopping you from doing so. The images we post online are formatted to reduce the time to download. While this causes a degradation in overall image quality, what's important is the content of the image. You can rest assured that the printed output will be of the highest quality. Downloading and printing pictures from the Superbikepics.com website also means you have to deal with the watermark over the image.

In addition, we don't use inkjets for our prints! Our prints are produced professionally on high-quality heavy stock photo paper and equally high-quality ($50,000-$150,000) photo printers. Inkjet prints tend to fade very quickly, even when using high-quality "archival" inks.

Inkjet prints produced from website images are printed at 72 dpi rather than the defacto "print standard" of 300dpi (actually 305dpi to be exact). The higher the dpi, the more detail and generally, the more crisp the overall photo. In addition, I use high-quality digital SLRs and lenses to capture the action with excruciating detail and vivid colors.

I can sum up the answer in one word: Quality. Specifically, the quality of our images is comprised of equal parts quality equipment, quality service, and quality professional motorsports photography experience.

I want to do what it takes to earn your business! Deliverying high-quality prints and posters right to your door at extremely competitive prices is how I intend to do it. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to hear from you soon! Best wishes at the track!
